My Expertise
I am a fully insured pet sitter based in North Norfolk. I have lots of experience working in a cattery as I have done so for nearly 4 years. At my job, I am responsible for feeding cats, giving them medications, changing and cleaning their used litter trays, brushing out each pet using a daily disinfectant, deep cleaning the pens between cats, setting up pens for new arrivals, dealing with customers, doing laundry, sorting the dishwasher and making sure the entire cattery is kept safe and clean. Though I primarily work alongside the owner, there have been several occasions where I am left to run the cattery solo. Building up on this experience has allowed me to feel confident in running the cattery alone and allowing me to expand my business and take this work to other catteries.
Other Boarding Services
Though catteries are where I have the most professional experience, I am more than willing to look after other boarding places too. I have several pets of my own, including dogs and rodents, and I pet sit for other animals, too. In the past, I have volunteered at a rescue centre and my local veterinary practice, so I have a basic understanding of what goes into their care. I believe that my knowledge of other animals, and my experience working in and running a cattery, would lend itself nicely to taking on work from other boarding services, such as kennels. However, as I’ve not run these types of businesses before, I would ask that I work alongside you to run them for a day or two, to refine my skills and feel confident in running your business for you.
Prices
Prices start from £145 a day. Due to the nature of cattery sitting, prices can vary between catteries, dependant on things such as: how many cats they board; how much admin work there is; quantity of 'behind the scenes' work to be carried out and how many hours a day the work will take. Please contact me to discuss individual, tailored prices.
Please note; I am based in North Norfolk, so there may be an additional 'travel charge', depending on where your cattery is located.
How Does It Work?
If you would like me to look after your cattery (or other animal-boarding business), please get in touch! My preferable contact method is by email (thepetbizbyfiz@gmail.com), or you can directly message me on Facebook or Instagram (@thepetbizbyfiz). We can chat about your requirements and whether you think I will be suitable for what you desire. It is also important to let me know which dates you are wanting my service, to confirm I am available. Once this is confirmed, we will arrange an in-person (or online, depending on your location) meeting, where we can discuss your business’ needs on a deeper level. I can meet you, see your cattery and be shown where things are and what I need to do. We will have a chat about your usual routine and what you require of me. This is also a great opportunity for you to ask any questions and inform me of anything you deem necessary. On the day before you leave, I will visit you in person and we will work together for a day, giving me hands on experience and an opportunity to receive your feedback. This is charged at 50% your quoted daily rate; I’m working for you, but getting trained. This is usually a one-time requirement and will not be needed on subsequent visits.
Reviews
Heading 6
Fiona has worked for us for the past 4 years both in capacity of Cattery Assistant working alongside myself and my husband, and also running the cattery solo when we have had an emergency or needed a weekend break away. She is entirely trustworthy and will cover all aspects of running the business and I whole heartedly recommend her services. She is hard working and professional. She follows all our instructions and procedures to the letter. Fiona is a real gem, our customers love her (as do the cats), and I highly recommend her services.
